Chicken of the Sea Genova Tonno 3 Ounce Tins (Pack of 24)

Best canned tuna out there5

Unless you're a health nut tuna in olive oil is almost always preferable to that in water. And Genova is the best of the normally priced ones. (there are some super-expensive imported brands in a jar but they cost as much as fresh tuna) For a quick meal I like to open a can over a salad mix complete with the oil then add some fresh lemon juice salt and pepper and that's it! A quick delicious healthy meal.More detail ...

SeaBear Smoked Salmon Trio 18-Ounce Unit

Good Salmon4

Not everyone has the same expectations for smoked fish. Some people prefer it smoked to a crisp; other people prefer smoked fish that is nearly raw. The folks at Seabear seem to have found a good in between place.

I've used this product several times and have always enjoyed it. The salmon is smokey and flavorful flakey firm and tasty. The salmon ships in foils pouches each containing a couple of ounces of salmon oil. You can pour it down the drain if you prefer a drier fish (but that's a lot of good omega-3 fatty acids to waste). Used in salmon pasta with a little olive oil sundried tomatoes and a little black pepper (let it sit over night in the fridge for the flavors to mix) it is a summer favorite. If you like your smoked salmon moderately moist yet firm Seabear is a good choice.More detail ...

Reese Skinless & Boneless Sardines in 100% Olive Oil 4.375-Ounce (Pack of 10)

A Matter Of Preference4

I like sardines much to my wife's dismay. I can eat them right out of the can. However skinless and boneless they have to be and that is becoming an expensive variety.

How nice it was then to find that Amazon is selling the Reese brand at very attractive prices. I've tried both the 3.75 and 4.375 oz cans in olive oil of course--purchase 30 or 40 cans at a time--and have been quite well pleased.

I prefer the larger can. In my experience the 4.375 is packed with smaller sardines that tend to have a more delicate taste. At least that was my opinion respecting those that are netted and packed in Morocco as most sardines that I have been buying are.

That brings me to the single problem I encountered in a recent purchase of the 4.375 oz Reese product. While the web page for it called it out as a product of Morocco what arrived was a product of Portugal. The box graphics as shown on the website was different too and the sardines were larger and firmer than those of Morocco.

Although still tasteful and a great value too I prefer the Moroccan variety. It's that more delicate taste that I seek. For most and for me as well the product source is certainly a minor point but I did call the issue to Amazon's attention.

Amazon is great when it comes to feedback and actually seeks it but I do not know how my comments were ultimately dealt with. The website still shows the product as Moroccan and package graphics different than the packaging that I received.

Of course the website includes info and pictures that Reese provides. Reese probably shipped the Portuguese variety without advising Amazon of the change. It could be that I will not know what is actually being shipped until I make my next purchase.More detail ...

Crown Prince Natural Alaskan Pink Salmon; No Salt Added; 7.5-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12)

Excellent canned salmon!5

Wild caught no added salt great price. Great flavor too.

Bones and skin are pretty normal in canned salmon and mix right into a salad. A source of calcium actually. And Omega 3 oil is highly recommended.

Add some herbs and lemon juice (and maybe even a little salt) some fine chopped sweet onions some fresh garlic ... have a feast!

I don't buy many canned or other prepared foods because of the high salt and other additives so this is great to find! I notice this company also carries no salt added tuna - also a great price.More detail ...

Reese Skinless and Boneless Sardines in WaterLow Sodium 4.375-Ounce Cans (Pack of 10)

Lo Sodium Sardines4

I have been purchasing Reese Skinless & Boneless sardines for several months. These sardines come neatly packed approximately 5 to a can. They have always tasted fresh with no fishy taste. As an added bonus they are low in sodium only 45mg/can. Most canned sardines are high in sodium. The sardines are good eaten right from the can or in a sandwich with tomatoes or scallions. Sometimes I add a small amount of olive oil as the fish can be a tad dry. Excellent sardines.More detail ...

Crown Prince Natural Skinless & Boneless Sardines in Pure Olive Oil; 3.75-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12)

boooyah5

These sardines are fantastic - probably why they stopped offering them. Actually they spoiled me from regular sardines; after you eat these the skin and tails and bones of regular sardines tend to make you quesy. These have a mild flavor so even if you don't like sardines you may changer your opinion after these...

I eat them one tin per day at work - much to the dismay of my co workers. Then I crumble some whole wheat crackers and spices into the fish oil and olive oil left over let it absorb and chug it down! Omega-3 fatty oils protien and olive oil! You cannot go wrong and here in Butler (30 miles N. of Pittsburgh) Giant Eagle charges 2.99 per tin...so you save as well.

Eat. Get Healthy. Annoy your weak-stomache co-workers (smak your lips smile sigh as you eat). Can you go wrong? I think not.More detail ...

Chicken of the Sea Tuna Chunk Light Water 3 Ounce Tins (Pack of 24)

Yummy and Convenient4

Tune Fish Chicken of the Sea / B000YT38BK

This is a great small-sized can of tuna fish easy to take in a lunch box to work or school. The pull tab is easy to handle and means you don't have to lug around a can opener. The tuna is light and tasty and packed in water so you're not getting that heavy oily taste that some tunas have. I would prefer that Chicken of the Sea would put out an openly 'environmentally friendly' version - I couldn't find out much about their fishing procedures online and I am somewhat concerned about mercury levels but those concerns aside this is a very tasty product.
